Bagrote Valley – Gilgit’s Hidden Alpine Paradise!

Bagrote Valley, located just 35 km southeast of Gilgit City, is a secluded, green valley that sits at the foot of some of the mightiest Karakoram peaks, including Rakaposhi (7,788 m) and Diran (7,266 m). Fed by the Bagrote Glacier, the valley is known for its river-fed terraced fields, thick forests, wooden homes, and warm village hospitality.

This off-the-beaten-path destination is ideal for nature lovers, trekkers, campers, and those who want to experience unspoiled culture and scenery.

Why Visit Bagrote Valley?

Bagrote is a living museum — untouched by tourism crowds, filled with ancient traditions, glacier-fed beauty, and unforgettable mountain backdrops. Whether you’re camping under the stars, sipping tea in a wooden village home, or hiking up to a glacier edge, Bagrote feels like a journey back in time — in the best way.

It’s perfect for eco-travelers, trekking enthusiasts, and off-the-grid explorers.
