How to get to Hunza?
BY ROAD: Hunza is just a 100-km drive from Gilgit, and most people arrive by road as it takes almost 2 – 3 Hours to reach Hunza from Gilgit. The main bus stand is on the KKH Aliabad. There are booking agents in town for long-distance buses & jeeps along the KKH. The journey from Islamabad can take as long as 24 hours.
FOR AIR ROUTES: If you are a flight-lover-traveler then the first thing to reach Hunza is to take a flight directly to Gilgit airport and then make a short 2-3 hour drive to Hunza valley. There are several rental van services that you can choose from, to get from Gilgit to Hunza.
Best time to visit HUNZA
You can travel between April and October, but it is advisable to visit and witness the impeccable beauty of Hunza from mid of May to mid-September. The winters are really cold in Hunza and generally not advised to families with old people and children as the temperature falls as low as to -10 with heavy episodes of snow-falling. The flight schedule is also subjected to weather conditions during the winter months of November to January. However, the best months to visit Hunza are June, July, and August.

‘Chapshuro’ is a traditional dish of Gilgit Baltistan also known as Hunza Pie served with yogurt dip.
This delicious Chapshuro is from Hunza Food Pavilion located in main Karimabad. This small eatery was formed by a local woman “Laal Shehzadi” who is famous for her organic, super fresh, and mouth-watering food. I just can’t wait to go back and get my hands on this delicacy of Hunza.
Another is the meat of Yak, which is very famous in Hunza ads it is freshly prepared on order and served with sizzling sauces and grilled vegetables for the perfect tempt!
Hunza is very famous for apples, plums, cherries, and apricots. The farms are planted with a variety of apples for the freshest pluck, you can go for!
